Experts aren’t sure, but there are alternatives out there.
Many of the frostings that we eat are bright and colorful because of artificial dyes and food coloring we add to them.
A Food and Drug Administration advisory panel recently recommended that the agency further study the link between food coloring and childhood hyperactivity but said products that contain the dyes do not need package warnings.
So don't you think a better alternative is to color it naturally?
Here's Some Ideas
Yellow
-Try using a pinch of powdered Turmeric. It's a plant in the ginger family and is completely vegan.
Green
-Get liquid chlorphyll is the green pigment found in plants and is available at any health food store.
Purple
-Try adding blueberry juice a little at a time for a brilliant hue.
Orange
-Orange juice and orange zest not only color but flavor.
Red or Pink
-There are so many juices that are perfect for this. Try Rasberry, cranberr, pomegrenate or beet juice.
